India and Pakistan have agreed to a conditional ceasefire following days of intense missile, drone, and artillery exchanges triggered by the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. The ceasefire, confirmed after a call between the Director Generals of Military Operations of both nations, took effect at 5 pm today. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar reaffirmed India's uncompromising stance on terrorism, vowing to remain vigilant and prepared to defend the nation.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh warned any future Pakistani aggression would meet a decisive response. The ceasefire announcement came after unexpected mediation by US President Donald Trump, despite prior US assertions of non-involvement. The agreement halts all military actions on land, sea, and air, with further talks scheduled on Monday.
India maintains its diplomatic pressure on Pakistan, with no rollback of measures like the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. The ceasefire follows India’s ‘Operation Sindoor,' which targeted multiple terror sites in Pakistan and PoK.
