On the night of May 5th, near Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College in Lajpat Nagar, a rickshaw puller informed Fashui and a companion that he had been sheltering a child in his hut who had been gang raped.
They quickly gathered help and found the child, who accused an auto driver of rape and abduction through a translator. The accused was restrained but became violent, prompting bystanders to intervene and the police to be called.
Despite the arrest of one accused, the Amar Colony Police Station delayed action on the other two perpetrators, allowing one named Subhash to flee.
The arrested man confessed, and medical examinations revealed horrific abuse, including anal and vaginal penetration, object insertion, forceful drugging, and physical injuries such as bruises and burns.
This incident near LSR College highlights ongoing safety concerns in the area, where police vigilance has been increased following past complaints by students.
The community remains disturbed by the slow police response and lack of swift justice for the survivor.
