Two police officers were martyred and two others injured in a human bomb attack in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), on Sunday.

According to Peshawar's Capital City Police Officer, Qasim Khan, a police mobile was targeted near the Ring Road Mall Mandi area. One of the martyred was a sub-inspector.

Earlier that day, a policeman was also martyred in Gwadar during a gunfight that broke out after militants lobbed a hand grenade near a mosque.

In a separate incident in KP's Lakki Marwat district, police foiled a kidnapping attempt by terrorists in the Landewa Gorabai area.

During the rescue operation, three abducted individuals were safely recovered, two terrorists were killed, and a police officer was injured.

Pakistan is witnessing a sharp rise in militant violence, particularly in KP and Balochistan. In response, security forces have ramped up counterterrorism operations.

The Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) reported that March saw over 100 militant attacks, the highest since November 2014, indicating a growing threat to national security and law enforcemen
